Whether you photograph weddings, products, people, food, or anything else, you’ll be looking for a WordPress theme that puts your images front and center.
We’ve rounded up some of the best photography themes we could find, giving you a bunch of both free and paid for options to choose from. They range from simple themes that are ideal for portfolio sites, to comprehensive themes complete with password protected areas and booking functionalities built in. So whether you’re looking for a one-stop shop for your photography services, a photography blog, or simply to showcase select photos to prospective clients, we’ve got you covered.
Some of these themes use the native WordPress Classic page builder or Gutenberg block editor, while others work in conjunction with page builders like Divi and WP Bakery, giving you a range of different ways to build your website.
WordPress is a great choice for creatives, because you can harness its flexibility and create a website that truly reflects your personality and artistic business without needing to know how to code, or trying in vain to explain your vision to someone else. Many of the themes we’ve chosen here are clean designs so that your photography is showcased like artwork on the page, but you may also be interested in other posts in this series such as The Best Free & Paid Minimal Themes or The Best Bright & Bold WordPress Themes.
Changing your theme can be done via your WordPress Dashboard; simply head to Appearances > Themes. If you’re installing a free theme, use the search bar to find your theme, download and activate. For paid themes, just upload the zip file and activate. And if you’re a Lyrical Host customer, don’t forget you can raise a support ticket for help with changing your theme – we’re here to help!
